For the Pasta Bake
- 300 g (10 oz) short pasta (penne, fusilli, or rigatoni)
- 2 cans tuna in water or oil (160 g / 5 oz each), drained
- 200 ml (¾ cup) cooking cream or heavy cream
- 150 g (1 ½ cups) grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Optional Add-Ins
- 1 cup frozen peas or sweetcorn
- ½ tsp chili flakes (for heat)
- Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (for garnish)

Step 1: Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- Drain and set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Creamy Tuna Sauce
- Preheat your oven to 200°C / 400°F.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Sauté the chopped onion for 3–4 minutes until soft.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the tuna, breaking it up gently.
- Add cream, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Step 3: Assemble the Bake
- Add the cooked pasta (and optional vegetables) to the sauce.
- Mix well until everything is evenly coated.
- Transfer to a lightly greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle grated cheese evenly on top.
Step 4: Bake
- Bake uncovered for 12–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
- For extra browning, switch to grill/broil mode for the last 2 minutes.
